Ladies and Gentlemen,

As family and friends graduate college and university, K-12 students prepare for Summer Break, and Springtime brides and grooms exchange vows May is a very busy time of year for all of us. Here at Historic St. Luke’s we are finishing the final touches on our month of special events. We hope you will join us in Celebration of National Historic Preservation Month and enjoy what makes us Isle of Wight County’s oldest and most cherished cultural resource.

Fifth Sunday Service with Christ Episcopal Church

On Sunday, May 29th, 2016 at 11 a.m. Historic St. Luke’s is proud to partner with nearby Christ Episcopal Church in providing parishioners and guests it’s fifth Sunday service series.

The service for Fifth Sunday Services is in accordance with The Holy Eucharist: Rite 1 from the Episcopalian Book of Common Prayer and is a religious service. Contributions collected during this service should be indicated for either Christ Episcopal Church or Historic St. Luke’s.

Footsteps In History: A Puppet Show for Young Americans

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, July 9th, 2016 bring your young families to Virginia’s Oldest Church for a special program designed just for children – “Footsteps in History: A Puppet Show for Young Americans”. This event will take place in the ancient church building and explore early-American history in a manner children would appreciate. No reservations are necessary. A special $5 general admission for all attendees and all discounts apply.

Restoration Day, May 14th 2016

Saturday, May 14th, 2016 – Restoration Day between 9:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., prevailing general admissions and all discounts apply. The general public is welcomed to attend this 59th Anniversary Commemoration of the 1957 completion of the church buildings second restoration. The 1950s is the theme for the day’s activities including dress, music, and classic cars. All visitors are invited to dress for the occasion. Children will enjoy activity areas, colonial brick making, Special guided tours and rare artifact displays throughout the day. Help Virginia’s Oldest Church celebrate National Historic Preservation Month!
