Todd Talk (February 2017)

Todd Ballance, Executive Director

Todd Ballance, Executive Director

We have been very busy at HSL over the January “break”.  Not so much a break for our team – only from daily tours for the general public.  Throughout the whole month of February is our “757 Appreciation Month”.  During this month enjoy two admissions for the price of one. The education department was busy with continuing archival work with volunteers, painting the interior of the admin building, visiting other historic sites and museums, working on this year’s calendar of events, and researching.  This week we had two new volunteers begin work on research and archival projects.  Only with their generous volunteer assistance can we fulfill our mission.  The gift shop is open and ready for business.  If you haven’t stopped by recently, you must treat yourself or someone you love this Valentine’s Day with a special gift from our shop.  Gloria and the rest of the team would love to help you choose that something special for your someone special this Valentine’s.  The development department has been busy thanking all of our latest donors and members for their gifts and memberships.  Stay tuned for more information on their line-up of events this year.  Spring is also around the corner or is it?  As I write this the day before Groundhog’s Day, many of us are anxious for warmer days ahead and the coming of Spring.  This means special events and enjoying the outdoors.  Make Historic St. Luke’s part of your weekend.  Stop by, wander the cemeteries, and enjoy the sights and sounds of our special events.  We look forward to welcoming your return this year.  See you soon!
